“Eya, table #7!”
“Coming! Just wait a bit!” I shouted from the counter while tying my hair up. I’m currently in my part-time job as a waitress in my aunt and uncle’s well-known restaurant. A part-timer without a wage. Well, I do have a wage because they promised me that they will pay for all of my school expenses which is actually a little bit unfair. I’m a scholar which means there’s no problem with my tuition and allowance, my aunt and uncle will just have to pay for the miscellaneous fees. I agreed to work for them because they feed me lunch and dinner in the restaurant. The things that are left to trouble me are the rent fee, bills and unexpected fees such as medicine fee since I don’t earn anything from this “part-time” job. Sometimes, I take on small jobs for money, that doesn’t mean that I sell drugs or give abortion whatsoever, the jobs that I take are decent. For example, I tutor the children of my neighbor whenever they have tests or I do their laundry for them.
I don’t have parents, they died when I was ten and since then, I’ve been taking care of myself. None of my relatives want to take me in because they don’t want any additional burden, but at least they let me work here and take care of my education. I’m not happy with the way they treat me, they don’t treat me like someone related to them, they treat me like a burden. It’s irritating, really. Tsk. I can cry all I want; my life is very dramatic. Sooner or later my life will be featured in MMK (a television show that features real-life drama stories). Ajujuju. Just kidding, I don’t cry over things like that. Nothing will happen with my life if I’ll dwell on sad things.
“Hoy Eya, what’s taking you so long?! Take table number seven’s order already!”
“Yes! Yes! I coming!” I went out of the staff room, secretly making faces. I took the notebook, where I will write the order of table number seven.
I was close to the table when I saw a guy who has his back facing me and a girl in front of her, they’re a couple I think. The girl is pretty, long, permed, autumn-colored hair. She also has fair skin, her nose was sculpted, she has a cleft chin and her plump lips are red. Her eyes are blue, absolutely foreign.
“Good evening ma’am and sir, may I take your orders please?” I greet them with a smile but I was shocked with what I saw.
“Wait, you look familiar…” the guy gestured at me, he’s the “What time is it?” guy. He was the one that asked me about the time and I answered stupidly. Shet. He’s already taken? Aaaaw. /sad face
Taken or not, as if he’ll take notice me, right? Who will fall for someone like me, the long lost sister of Shrek?
“D’you know here, Chad?” the pretty girl asked, she has a very melodic voice and an awesome British accent. Wait, his name is Chad? Oh gosh, so masculine and so handsome. (>_<)/♥
“Err… I don’t know…” I was a bit disappointed with what he said, he doesn't know which means he doesn't remember me. But that’s just me being overly dramatic. As if he’ll remember ‘this face’ unless my ugliness traumatized him.
"Ah! I know! I remember, she’s the girl from Willford Academy... earlier, my watch stopped and I didn’t know the time. I was worried because we still have our dinner date. I saw her at the corridor… she’s the one I asked for the time then you…” he looked at me, “You answered me---“
“Ahhh! I need to get your orders now; I can’t talk to customers. Please give me your orders.” I panicked. I don’t want him to continue what he was going to say. It’s embarrassing. Plus, I don’t want to remember that idiotic thing that I said yesterday.
“Oh.” He smiled! So cute~ “I’ll take the roasted beet salad.”
“Roasted beet salad…” I murmur as I jot it down on my notebook, then I look at the girl with her,
"How about you, ma’am?"
"I would want the braised kurobuta pork belly, please."
"Any side dishes?"
"For us, creamed-emmer would be fine."
"Okay, drinks?"
"A bottle of red wine and water."
"Okay, one roasted beet salad and a braised kurobuta pork belly for the main course, a creamed emmer for the side dish and a bottle of red wine and water for drinks." I was about to leave when the ‘time’ guy said something.
“Can I ask you one thing, miss?"
"What is it, sir?"
"Do you like me?" his face was seriously-asked that shocked both me and the girl that was with him.
"Eh?! Sir?! What are you talking about?!"
“Chad!”
"Just answer me miss, do you like me?" he's looking directly in my eyes that got me uneasy.
"I- I need to go sir; we have lots of customers to take care of. Sorry." I hurriedly returned to the counter. I passed their order to another waiter and hid in the staff room.
"Sheeet. WHAT WAS THAT?!!" /O___o\

KRINGG! KRINGG!!
At last! Classes are over! I was the last one to leave the room because I was assigned to clean it. There was an election for the class officers, and I was bullied and voted to be “class maintenance president. Err. Yeah, right. I just said yes. This is my role in the school of the beautiful and handsome, nothing but an invisible person.
When I finished cleaning, I was walking in the hallway while holding on to a book.
I remembered this is the same hallway where I met Chad and he asked for the time. I really have this big, stupid, crush on him, it’s because he’s very good looking. But, after the restaurant incident, I was not able to see Chad again. I dunno, maybe the campus is too big that’s why our paths don’t intertwine. This is good too, I can’t forget what he asked me in the restaurant.
“Do you like me?”
Why did he ask that? Maybe because of what I said before, I was too obvious. But, is it my fault that he’s too handsome? Was it my fault that my panty dropped because of how good looking he is?
Because I was too absorbed in my thoughts, I didn’t notice that I was already at the end of the hallway. I was walking on auto-mode and went straight to the stairs. It only has three steps but still, I fell down on it. My face hit the grass of the open round of the building. At the end of the hallway, is the school’s green ground. It has benches and there are plenty of students killing time there, especially after classes. It was embarrassing because I fell down in such an open space and there are lots of people around. Good thing that nobody noticed me.
All of them were busy with what they were doing. I noticed some who were looking at me but they did not waste their time and looked away from me. Since I’m ugly, will they waste their time on me? I think that’s my only advantage here, nobody will waste their time on me. No one will take notice of me here even if I pick my nose on this big open field anytime I want. I am an invisible person.
I would’ve escaped embarrassment while I was slowly standing up when I heard someone laughing from behind.
“Hahahahahaha! Not only are you ugly, but clumsy as well?” I turned around and saw a guy laughing. His skin is fair and his teeth were perfect. His lips were red and very kissable. He also has these prominent and broad cheekbones, developed brows and chiseled jawlines that is awesomely super masculine. His face is gorgeous; you won’t see any spot of pimples or blackheads. Yummy!
“If you’ll jot down one by one my physical attributes in your mind, you’d be able to define the word ‘perfect’. I’ll be going first. I still have a photo shoot with Bench. Next time, stop drooling around when you’re walking on the hallway so you’ be able to avoid looking like a fool.” He laughed again while walking past me. I was left there, staring wide-eyed. He looks foreign but with a fluent Tagalog accent.
And wait, what the f---- did he just say? How arrogant! Just shet.

Dear Diary,
Today I tripped on the hallway. Nobody noticed me, good thing I’m ugly.
-Eya
PS. Just kidding, I was seen and laughed at by Cross, my Bench model schoolmate.
